On home fitness equipment, does the "Calories Burned" counter show exaggerated numbers for marketing purposes?
A friend told me that the " Calories Burned" indicators show inflated numbers, with no basis in reality, because the manufacturer wants the consumer to think that particular machine is helping them burn lots of calories. Is this true, or a conspiracy theory?
Where can I get this piece of home fitness equipment?`?
Many years ago many, many years ago there was this home fitness thing that was basically a spring inside of a telescoping rod, with handles on both ends so it could be pushed shut against resistance , and it had cables between the handles so when you pulled the cables apart, the telescoping rod pushed in on itself, again providing resistance .You could, for example, hold it like a bow and arrow, and pull on the cables for resistance.Like this Bad representation.I don't even remember what it was called, but it was very useful.Does anyone know what it is called, adn if they are sold anyhmore? I cannot even look on eBay, since I don't know what it's called and " fitness thing" doesn't seem to work well.

I am looking something to tone after having my 3rd child I want to tone up. I am not worried about weight loss but mainly toning. I want something that is versitle but I hate the eliptical. Thanks for any input

What home fitness equipment offers the best results?
I want to purchase a single piece of workout equipment that offers aerobic activity but will also tone muscle. I want to burn fat and calories and tone my muscles without bulking up. I have been running on a treadmill in our apartment complex gym, and love the results. But I was wondering if something like an elliptical machine would offer the same results or better without the wear and tear on my body caused by running?

I've been seeing a lot of commercials for different items lately to 'tone' your body. Zone Pilaters A ring in order to produce support and force to fight against. The " Amazing Ball' which is basically a miniature medicine ball to help with crunches...I'm wondering if there is anything like that for men? I'm not talking about anything like bowflex, I'm talking about something more aimed towards 'closet storage', personally. I saw this pull up bar they have that looked intriguing, but I'm aiming for something more based towards base strength.Arms and abs primarily is my focus. Hoping to find something I can do at home when I can't make it to the gym. Would appreciate any ideas very much Thank you.
