First time buying a treadmill?
this is our first time buying a treadmill. The doctor had been advicing my parents to excericise more because they both have health issues such as diabetes. Therefore we have decided to buy them a treadmill to help them become healthier this Christmas. Do u have any suggestions on which treamill should we buy? Please give me a list and any advices would really be appreciated. Since we have a tight bugget, we would like to buy them something under $1000.... maybe something for like $500 600. Any suggestions??? Thanx Oh it would be good if it can be a durable one that can also endure running so that we their children can also use it because we play sports in hs and it is pretty important for us to stay in shape as well.
Thinking about buying a treadmill from walmart.com...?
I am thinking about buying a manual treadmill from walmart or walmart.com and I wanted to know if I can pay extra and they could assemble it for me...I had a bad experience putting another exercise machine together myself and it wasn't good, lol.
What's better: buying a treadmill or just sticking to the gym?
Treadmill Pros I don't have to go out. I can just exercise whenever at home. I can run safe at home and not have to deal with weather. cons Most good treadmills are expensive. I'm only doing cardio. Possibility of getting bored with treadmill.Gym A lot of different equipment I can use. cons having to drive to the gym, having to deal with all the gym ordeal such as packed with people, germs,...people. Sucks if you live in cold weather and the gym is far away.
If I buy a treadmill, will that help remove AND KEEP off the weight I'm gaining back for whatever reason?
Treadmill good investment, my opinion.Driving to places more than twenty minutes away everyday when I barely make twice the amount of a gallon of gas per hour not good investment. Not getting enough exercise at home, getting depressed and eating more than 500 600 again....
Should we buy a treadmill or an elliptical for home use.?
My husband and I want to buy either a treadmill or an elliptical. I have always thought that the elliptical was much more difficult and less pleasant than the work out that I get from the treadmill. We want to buy a good piece of equipment that both of us can use, but he prefers the elliptical and does not think he will use a treadmill if we bought it for home. I feel the same, but vice versa. Can someone shed some light on the subject? Thanks
Just bought a treadmill....how do I workout properly? I am NOT looking to lose weight.?

I mostly run for 5 mins, then jog, then walk, then repeat the process. I put the incline at approximately 5.What are some other tips for first time treadmill users? Today I was bad...went on it for 45 mins with no shoes. Won't do this again. What else should I know? Thanks

I just bought a treadmill, what's the best way to lose lots of weight?
I've been walking 30 minutes a day at a moderate pace for a few days in a row now. I've also been eating a LOT less and eating a lot healthier foods, like more fruit veg and oatmeal ect... I need to lose a LOT of weight. Please tell me some tips to make the weight melt off. I've started walking longer now, about 1 hour. I need any advice I can get. I also keep a journal and I write down what I eat, I have a schedule, ect.I heard that it's bad to wake up and run on an empty stomach because your body is in starvation mode from the long night sleep.... I read to eat first thing in the morning, wait an hour, then exercise. Is this better for me?
Should I buy a treadmill?
I can't decide if it would be irresponsible. My husband and I both have fulltime jobs. I have about 30,000 in savings. I'd like to use anout 900.00 of my savings to purchase the treadmill that I've dreamed of owning for a long time. It is normally 2199.99, but is on sale. However, I told myself that i wouldn't touch my savings which I have growing as mutual funds.Thing is, I have been struggling with my weight for years. I desperately want to meet my goals. I don't have enough discipline to make it to the gym five to six times a week and I do not like exercising outdoors. The weather is also an issue in the winter. What would you do?I'd also like to mention that I love running. I used to run at least 45 minutes straight without stopping most days of the week. But, life got in the way and making it to the gym is no longer simple. I'm basically at square one again. I wanted to increase that time, but the opposite happened.I don't like steppers, elypticals or most other exercise machines. I did did use to do cycling rpm classes, however the bikes were pro and probably much more than I can afford. I continue to enjoy running more. The treadmill is on sale for 799.99 plus tax.I'd be doing the running in addition to weight trainig and ither exercise.
Should I buy a treadmill or dumbbells?
I don't have a very healthy diet. Soda and fast food, and I don't get much exercise since I have a computer job sitting all day. I'm not over weight, I'm average, but want to start getting healthier and in shape. I've been trying to eat healthier, its hard, but I'm sure I will get it down eventually.I'm planning to buy either a treadmill or dumbbells after saving the money. However I'm not sure which I should buy? They both do 2 different things, treadmill for cardio and dumbbells for weight lifting. The goal isnt to be a huge muscle man, I just want to get in shape.
Should I buy a treadmill or go to the gym?
I usually would go for a walk but I moved to a place where there is no near park and it's cold so I want to workout but I can't decide on buying a treadmill or going to the gym? at the gym I can socialize and use different equipment but if I buy a treadmill it will also be pricy but not as much only that I'll be alone and it doesn't sound as fun.
